However when it comes to choose size for repair stell or lead pipe then you would need to follow the below chart to pick correct one. Most of pipe types are provided in imperial sizing standard.
The easiest way to pick correct size would be to measure the leaking pipe external diameter and compare the measurement to match it with column no 4 on the size chart. Then to pick correct clamp model the size from column no 2 needs to be taken.
How long will a pipe repair clamp last?
Whilst the pipe leak fix made by repair clamp can last for few years, it is advised to not use pipe clamps as permanent leak fix solution. These can be treated as long term fix but it should be always considered to replace leaking pipe within maximum 4-5 years after fix is applied. This is mainly caused by the fact that the hole which is causing pipe leak can corrode and increase in size over a period of time.
