Not at all fit for purpose
The object of a strainer plug is to catch the food waste as you let the water out to avoid blocking the sink. Therefore most of these include a spring-loaded button that holds the strainer clear of the drain to let the water out while retaining the food waste, after which you can press down further to refill the sink. This one had no such button. It’s very difficult to catch all the food waste either while the water is still in the sink or after lifting the strainer to let the water out.
