Flexible kitchen tap hose connectors
Most of kitchen and bathroom taps connect to water supply by using flexible tap tails. Kitchen tap hose connector comes with BSP fitting or 15mm compression fitting on water source end and metric thread fitting one tap end. You should ensure that you choose the correct size before making the purchase.
The water supply end BSP connection is typically in 3/8 or 1/2 BSP size. 3/8 sized flexi hose will fit the thread at approx. 15mm on it external diameter, whilst the 1/2 size will fit thread of about 21mm of its external diameter. The tap end connection uses metric sizing.
The most common size used by kitchen tap manufacturers is M10 size, however some of taps have M8 or M12 water inlet connections. Make sure to measure the connection first.
As this is metric sizing, the number in the size will match the connection diameter in mm. If the tap connection thread diameter is 10mm, you need to use M10 tap tail sizes. Check the graph below for this explanation summary.
Toilet flexi hose pipes
Flexible hose with BSP female threaded fittings on both ends connect the toilet to the water supply. The most common used sizes of threads in toilet flexi pipe are 3/8 or 1/2 inch BSP.
Bear in mind that BSP thread sizes are not equal to the thread diameter. If you measure your thread where the flexi hose needs to be fitted then follow the simple rule: 3/8 sized hose will fit the approx. 15mm external diameter thread, whilst the 1/2 size will fit about 21mm external diameter thread.
Large bore flexible pipes
For larger pipes, the 3/4 x 3/4 inch flexible hose pipe provides a robust and durable connection. 3/4 x 3/4 large bore flexible hose pipe ensures a high water flow, making hose ideal for pump systems.
We offer large bore flexible connectors with 14 or 15mm bore hole. Bear in mind that 3/4 BSP size is not the thread fitting diameter. The 3/4 BSP size will with threads with their external diameter of about 26mm.
Choosing correct flexible tap tail size
Follow the guidance of choosing correct flexible pipe shown on pictures above. The most common mistakes made when choosing threaded connection is to pick the size to match the thread diameter in inches. Check the table below to avoid this mistake and match your thread size to the diameters provided.
Flexible Tap Connectors With Compression Fittings
Our offer includes flexible hose pipes with compression fittings on both or one end. This solution is ideal to connect taps directly to 15mm supply pipes (or 22mm ones). Alternatively the 15mm to 1/2" BSP adaptors can be used to connect threaded tap tails directly to 15mm shut-off valves.
